Mr. Ratan Chowdhury, Chairman cum Managing Director of the company was originally a highly experienced Officer in Central Police Force Organisation, Government of India particularly in Administration, Finance and Account. After taking voluntary retirement from the services of Government of India, and he has taken practical training in Information Technology.

Mr. Chowdhury is only 50 years old and exceedingly dynamic in running business successfully. He is born and brought up in semi-urban areas of Nadia District, West Bengal. Nadia District is famous for cultivation of high quality vegetables, fruits and various flowers in huge quantity. Right from the childhood, he has seen the distress of the farmers and realised the acute problems and storage of agri-horticultural products and the dire necessity of scientific processing of vegetables, fruits and flowers for value addition. He realised the wide scope and potentiality for value addition in the fruits, vegetables and flower sector and the necessity of setting up modern Multipurpose Cold Storage incorporating state-of-the art technology.

Mrs. Shima Chowdhury, the Director of Bishal Horticulture & Animal Projects Ltd. is basically a Horticulture and an expert in Mushroom cultivation and processing has rightly inspired Mr. Ratan Chowdhury to go in for Agri-Horticultural processing and Storage, to start with, in Nadia District itself and then in all the Districts of West Bengal in identified sectors, in due course of time.
